The Orlando Magic draft guard J.J. Redick from Duke with the 11th selection. I think Redick will fit in decently with the Magic, but I have doubts as to whether he is a starter. Also, with players like Rodney Carney and Ronnie Brewer still on the board, I have to question whether this was the best pick for the team. One thing is for certain, if Redick stays, Pat Garrity will be gone before the start of the season. No major complaints with this pick - we'll just have to wait and see what we get. One thing is for sure, resigning DeShawn Stevenson or another defensive-minded guard is a must-do situation for the Magic now.

The Orlando Magic will pick 11th in the 2006 draft. Pat Williams represented the Magic during the draft lottery tonight but unfortunately did not influence the lottery with his past luck. Potential players that might be available at #11 include Rodney Carney, Ronnie Brewer and possibly J.J. Redick. Check back for more info and analysis as draft day approaches.

While the Magic are making a decent run at the #1 pick for next year, I believe I discovered a solid second-rounder. According to ESPN.com, "Northwestern College's Deb Remmerde's streak of 133 straight free throws -- the longest in organized basketball history -- is over." The college girl had a streak of 22 games without a missed free throw.

No. 11 Pick - Fran Vazquez

With the 11th pick, the Magic select Fran Vazquez, a forward out of Spain. Vazquez is 22 years old, stand at 6'11" and weighs 230 pounds. I am not sure what the Magic are thinking with this pick. Vazquez might be a good pick for a lot of teams, but with Sean May, Rashad McCants, Antoine Wright, Joey Graham and Hakim Warrick stil on the board - I just don't think you can make this pick.
