Darko gone, signs with Memphis

The great Darko Debate can come to a close now, becuase Milicic will be signing a 3 year, $21 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. Personally, I'm glad the ordeal is over with. I much rather overpay a potential superstar in Rashard Lewis than overpay a #2 draft pick bust.

Francis agrees to buyout

Steve Francis accepted a buyout from the Portland Trailblazers worth nearly 30 million. If no team claims him off waivers, Francis will be an unrestricted free agent in 7 days. I seriously doubt any team will claim him, because they would then be responsible for his fat contract.

Insider shut down?

Not sure how many of you made it over to see the "inside" information coming off Inside the Orlando Magic on blogspot.com, but I just happened to notice it is gone.

Bill France Jr. passes, Magic still big news

The Magic news is so twelve hours ago, give the man the headline he deserves.

What the Lebron?

I've seen a total of 5 playoff games this year. Four of them were the Magic. The last, well, I picked just the right one I guess.

Indiana loses

The Indiana Pacers did their part tonight, helping out the Orlando Magic reach the playoffs by losing to the New Jersey Nets. All the Magic have to do today is beat the Boston Celtics at the Amway Arena. Let's go Magic!

Bargnani out for tonight's game

According to ESPN.com, Andrea Bargnani is out indefinitely after having an emergency appendectomy done last night. So, obviously he will be out tonight against the Magic.

Last nights game was so bad

The game was so bad last night that we make bad teams look good. Take a look at the recap on NBA.com. The artile is titled, "Hornets’ Stifling Defense in OT Slows Magic". Ouch.

Rookie Rankings

I was checking out NBA.com earlier and came across the latest Rookie Rankings. I think it's a damn shame that J.J. Redick is not even on the radar.

Final Answer?

Denver has reportedly made a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers to aquire Allen Iverson in exchange for Andre Miller, Joe Smith and a couple first round picks in 2007. If you ask me, I think the Sixers are getting the better end of the deal.

NBA to resume play with old ball

News first broke on ESPN.com earlier today - but the NBA will announce tomorrow the organization is returning to the old ball starting January 1st. Citiing numberous player complaints, the NBA has been reviewing statements and evidence that ultimately lead to this decision. Let's hope it does not affect the Magic's play

Problems in Boston

I was checking out the Daily Dime over on ESPN.com this morning and came across a familiar picture. I remember not so long the paper bags were showing up in a different arena. It's not that Doc is a bad coach, he's just an average coach. He'll get you to .500; but that it not Celtic basketball. As for Ainge, it's a package deal as far as I am concerned. Things don't just get bad overnight.  ...

Dwight Howard and Brian Hill take Eastern awards

Dwight Howard is the Eastern Conference player of the month for November while Brian Hill secured coach of the month honors. Howard average over 17 points and 13 rebounds as the Magic compiled a 12-4 record for the month.

Reggie, Reggie!!!

Bulls win, Magic out of playoff race

The Chicago Bulls defeated the Miami Heat today eliminating the Orlando Magic from the playoff race. Even though the Magic are out of contention, don't expect them to rollover the last two games of the season.

Playoff Race

With the Chicago Bulls winning last night against the Washington Wizards, the Magic hope to end the season in a three-way tie with the Bulls and the Sixers to make the playoffs. The Bullls threw a wrech into the equation by beating the Wizards last night. Since both teams have won 2 games against each other, the tiebreaker would come down to conference wins.

Dwight Howard and the Rookie Challege

Dwight Howard tallied 4 points, 6 rebounds and 1 blocked shot as the Sophmores beat the Rookies on Friday night, 106-96.

Trades, trades. Everywhere trades.

NBA.com has put up an article detailing some of the more common rules of the NBA. Check it out: Explaining the NBA’s Most Misunderstood Rules.

Playing the race card

Why does everything in the NBA come down to race? We hear the arguement that the NBA is predominantly black, so the suspensions, rules and anything else that happen are driven by race. Seriously fans, does anyone really buy this?

New Orleans Hornets

The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina has affected a great deal of people from all areas of the world. While I would love to express my thoughts on the entire subject, I will only cover how the events have affected the NBA. For one, a lot of Hornets staff and players families are now homeless or possibly even jobless. Secondly, the Hornets already had one of the lowest attendance figures in the NBA. Now they will have to relocate for the majority, if not all, the 2005-2006 season. How will this affect the franchise down the road?

Steven Hunter signs with Philly

I was reading through the various media reports today and noticed that ex-Magic player Steven Hunter signed a deal with the Sixers. The deal was reportedly for 5 years and $17 million. Are you kidding me?
