After a hectic morning, the news about the head coaching job has quieted considerably going into the afternoon. There were rumors, confirmations, more rumors and then just simple crazy talk most of the morning. Sometimes, news was being leaked or written about for the first time about as fast as one could sit down and blog about it. Now, just like that - everything is quiet again. My guess, the Magic are arranging air travel for Van Gundy and we'll have a press conference to introduce him as the new coach by end of business today. With the draft and free agency coming up, combined with the Donovan disappearing act, the Magic need to quickly clean the overnight mess. The team needs a couple quiet weeks in order to calm any fears that potential free agent signings might have.
All is quiet, even ticket representatives aren't calling.

Magic organization is on lock down no one can communicate with outside ppl
That could explain why the media has all of a sudden gone very quiet on the story. For such a hot story, it sure fizzled out this afternoon with nothing to talk about.
Just got home and a bit late to the game - but it now appears (according to local AM station and then ESPN who first reported this) that the Magic and Donovan are waiting on a decision from Rich DeVos on what the next move will be.
The latest update is that, well, there is no update. The Sentinel is reporting that the Magic are being stubborn and making Donovan fight the battle to leave the organization. Seems a bit silly to me. Why would you be stubborn at a time like this? Do you hope to change the guy's mind? I don't think there is a Magic fan left that would want this asshole coaching our team. Besides, you have a better replacement sitting at home in his lazy boy - just waiting on your phone call. Pick up the blue phone and it will ring his cell.
