With Grant Hill in and out of games this season, do you think we should explore trade offers for him? Personally, I'd like to keep Hill in Orlando for several more years - especially if we can get him to sign for the minimum after this year. Hill is a good influence to have in the locker room and a great role model for Orlando. Besides, I just get that feeling thinking about him playing out his career in Orlando. I think it just sucks for an ankle injury to take so much from a guy like Hill.
Now, with all that out of the way, the business side of me has to step and seriously start exploring trades for a dynamic scorer that can help this Magic team pull out a few close games. The tricky part is not damaging team chemistry. I don't think it's a big secret that Vince Carter would love to play near home and the New Jersey Nets are having a little trouble this year. If I'm in the Magic front office, I'm working the phones exploring a trade of Hill's expiring contract for Carter. Everyone has their opinion about Carter - but I've seen what kind of guy he is. I think Carter would be a great fit for the Orlando Magic. He would have the freedom in late game situations to help the Magic take a few wins while not being relid upon every night to carry the load.
I'd hate to see Hill go, but I'd love to see Carter in Orlando for the rest of his career. What would you do?
