Magic at Washington

The Magic seemed to play a little better tonight - but they are still having problems with consistent offensive execution and going through a rash of turnovers at the worst time. Washington pulls out a close one, 112-111. I'm not quite sure what the deal is with Jameer "I got to get mine" Nelson, but I sure hope he gets his act together soon. I'm tired of watching this crap. For that matter, Carlos Arroyo has not been all that easy to watch lately either. I much rather see guys on the floor that play hard on every possession, like Keyon Dooling and Trevor Ariza.

I'd hate to go as far as saying trade Jameer - but let's face it. If our potent point guard duo does not get back to the form they showed in the earlier part of the year, this team is in for a long year. The ball is not moving around the court and Dwight Howard is simply not getting the touches he needs. And when he does - he's either way too far from the basket or the floor is crowded. This little losing phase we're going through isn't helped by the complete lack of movement on offense.

The first half started out pretty good - ball movement, player movement were good and assists were up. The third quarter was a disaster. Coach has got to do a better job with his rotations. Nelson is staying in way too long and Howard needs to come out with a minute or so left in the 1st and 3rd quarters. The rotations that he has been using lately do not match up playing styles very well. We need to get Ariza and Hill on the floor together a little more often.

And while we're on the soap box - if Bo Outlaw and Pat Garrity are not going to play any minutes - then damn it, get J.J. Redick onto the freaking court. We've got our own mini Detroit/Darko experiment going on. I don't really feel like waiting until Redick's second or third year to find out he is a good player when he's playing on another team. I like Garrity - but his Magic days were done when Doc left. He just hasn't been the same since getting injured a few years ago.

Coach - Let's get this train wreck cleaned up. I'm tired of staring at it. My dog is hiding under the couch for two and half hours every game night while I curse and yell at the TV. And my girlfriend is tired of me yelling from way up in the upper bowl about these problems. It's the same crap over and over.
