Dime Magazine has posted previews of all the NBA teams on their website and in this month's edition. This year, Dime decided to do things a bit differently and contacted the best team blogs around for their take on the upcoming season. Here is the preview for the Orlando Magic, by yours truly.
The Orlando Magic will be returning to action in 2006-07 with most of the roster responsible for their late success last year. The major loss over the summer was starting shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson. However, the acquisitions of first round draft pick J.J. Redick and ex-Magician Keith Bogans will provide the Magic with options in the backcourt. Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard will continue to shine and improve upon their solid play. At the reserve spots, the Magic have late-season additions Carlos Arroyo, Darko Milicic and recently re-signed Trevor Ariza all returning. Expect Brian Hill to focus on defense and execution as he begins a second season with this young Magic team. Sprinkle in a starting Hedo Turkoglu and a healthy Grant Hill as a reserve and you have a recipe for a playoff run.
