Game notes - Magic vs Philadelphia

Make it eight in a row as the Magic refuse to give up in the chase for that final playoff spot. Dwight Howard had his breakout game tonight with 28 points and 26 rebounds. Breakout game you ask? Yes. This was a different Dwight Howard tonight. Jameer Nelson had a big first half but was quite in the second half until he knocked down a big shot to put the Magic up for good.

Hedo Turkoglu had another solid game - not really doing anything too spectacular - but doing all the little things that helps this team win. And DeShawn Stevenson - what more can you say about this guy. Stevenson was guarding Allen Iverson in the fourth and completely shut him down. I'll be the first to say that I think the Magic need to upgrade at the SG position - but Stevenson showed why he belongs in that starting spot. As the rest of the team struggled to keep Philly from scoring, Stevenson did more than his share in limiting Iverson to 2 points in the fourth quarter.

Again, the Magic had only 10 turnovers in a hard fought game. When you take care of the ball like the Magic have the last couple of games, games are a little easier to close out. But, I have to say - Howard was the big show tonight. I have two last comments on the night. First, I'm glad I was there to see Howard's 28/26 night. Second, I hope Howard uses this game as a reference point to what he can do.

Let's go MAGIC!!!
