Hedo Turkoglu! Without Hedo, the Magic do not win this game. Plain and simple. In fact, the game would have been a lot easier if the Magic would have put the ball in the hands of Turkoglu. The Magic win a very close game over the Detroit Pistions, 89-87. Hedo finishes with 26 points, 5 assists and 7 rebounds.
The Magic fought very hard tonight. Granted the team played poorly against the trap defense - but they kept playing hard. Jameer Nelson stunk up the game something fierce. This was Nelson's second poor game in a row. However, our fearless point guard drilled two consecutive baskets at the end of the game to tie the game and then take the lead. Dwight Howard had some really boneheaded plays with dropping the ball or not catching the ball - but finishes with 12 points and 14 rebounds. As with Nelson, Howard comes up big at the end of the game blocking a shot and grabbing the loose ball.
Darko Milicic and Carlos Arroyo played ok against their former team - but we definitely did not get the production we have come to expect from our bench. The bench played decently in the first half but was unable to attack the trap defense the Pistons threw at them in the second half.
As for the rest of the team, very average - even slightly below average. But a win is a win. I will say this again, the Magic do not win this game without Turkoglu. Turkoglu took a bad spill on the last play of the game and had to be helped off the court. Initially, the fall looked really bad. However, in a radio interview after the game, Turkoglu seemed to be optimistic in returning to the floor very soon.
**UPDATE** - X-Rays were negative and Hedo's condition is listed as a right knee contusion. Listed as day-to-day.
