Game notes - Magic vs Pacers

The Magic beat the pacers tonight, 92-88, on a good defensive effort. Both teams played a great game. The Pacers were looking to secure the sixth seed in the playoffs and the Magic were looking to end the season with some momentum. With less than a half minute in the game, Steve Francis put up the game-winning basket, leaving only 10 seconds on the clock.

Dwight Howard posted 17 points and 9 rebounds. The Magic guards were unable to get him the ball as often as I would like to see, but he still managed to play a good game. In the first quarter, the Magic used a little pressure defense after a made basket. The Pacers turned the ball over twice which resulted in back-to-back dunks by Howard. Tony Battie played more like the player I expected to see. Battie finished with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

The entire team played well tonight. The turnovers were low, Magic committed only 13. I would have liked to see a few more assists, a couple more rebounds and a little better free-throw percentage, but it's hard to complain when the team gets the win.

Next game is against Miami, hopefully we can finish the season on a 2-game winning streak.
