Rumor is stating that Tracy McGrady informed the Orlando Magic today he was not intereted in resigning. I hate to see T-Mac go because he is awesome to watch - but I think this could be the best thing for the Magic. McGrady is NOT a leader. He disappears from game to game and even quarter to quarter sometimes. With his star power and our log jam at power forward - I really think we can make something work here. The Indiana Pacer deal sounds interesting - we'd pick up a good mix of players, still have our #1 pick (Okafor) and the possibility of Grant Hill @ESPN" href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=2626" target="_blank">Grant Hill returning.
So, are we happy McGrady is leaving? No. Are we glad to get something in return? Hell yes. Oddly as it sounds, I think our team will be better off without McGrady.

Why don't Magic attempt to keep T-Mac, and go after Shaq.
Mcgrady leaving would be the biggest mistake in a line of big stars being traded by the Orlando Magic. Tracy is just upset because he is a competitor who wants to win and all the hustling he has done for the team with no recognition by the media due to the losing record. Kobe and LeBron get more attention by the media however, Tracy has lead the league in scoring two years in a row. It doesn't help when he is surrounded by a bunch of under achievers (except Gooden who is inconsistant). I thonk if Tracy is traded, it needs to be to the Lakers for Shaq or to Indiana for Jermaine O Neil. With the draft finish, it may be in Tracy's best interest to stay with the team if the rookies start playing immediately and if Grant Hill is healthy. The one thing the Orlando Magic organization is forgetting is the loyalty of the fans and how much we really like Tracy McGrady (just surround him with key pieces)and how much we loved the contributions of Darryl Armstrong, Dennis Scott, Shaquille O Neil, Penny Hardaway, Corey Magette, Chucky Atkins, Ben Wallace, Etc..Wow we are really loyal to our players. Ha!
As a fan of T-Mac, I will miss him at Orlando, but a brother got 2 do his thang. They are more opportunties for this great ball player and I think its bout time he gets what he deserves.
