ESPN has a very good article on Tracy McGrady and what separates him from greatness.

Just read that article and agree with it 100%. McGrady never has had the killer instinct, determination, and motivation that separates a good player from a great. I think Shaq fits into the same boat - he's a highly skilled player, but I would never call him one of the game's best - he lacks the drive and fire of a champion. This is why I think it is silly to compare Kobe and McGrady. Yes, they may put up similar numbers, be around the same age, and so on, but Kobe has potential to be a great player of his generation, even if his drive and determination cost him his job in L.A.
I think that article is bull crap. He was a great player last year but now as a losing team he is not. If the magic start winning again I bet this guy will write an article about how great mcrady is. bullshit.
