Quick note

Rod Strickland is a professional basketball player. For him to come into Orlando and play as well as he did with no practice was beyond belief. We have guys running around on the court that cannot play basketball as good as this guy does. He can see the floor really well. I think Keith Bogans @ESPN" href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3746" target="_blank">Keith Bogans can learn a lot from Strickland. They are similar in size (eh, a couple inches) and build.

For whatever reason, the team moved without the ball better (read: as opposed to not at all) when Strickland was running the show. There were plenty of easy baskets and dunks when our players moved without the ball. When Tyronn Lue runs the offense, there is more standing around and time running off the clock.

I expected our new players to be professionals and play the way Strickland has. Eventually they would pick up the defensive and offensive sets - and everything would gel. Unfortunately - no one is really playing like they belong in the NBA. NBA players are the greatest basketball players available. There should be no reason one could not assemble a team of 5 players and in 7 days have them playing like professional basketball players. For whatever reason, our guys are playing at a level less than NBA caliber.

Can you imagine Rod Strickland running most of the plays and a 'bad-boy' the sorts of Dennis Rodman or Bill Lambier for a few quarters; that coupled with half the opposing team guarding Tracy McGrady, I could forsee quite a few more numbers in the win column and fans returning in droves!
