Another ESPN article - Fire Gabriel

ESPN has another great article on why Gabriel should be out of a job. If you're holding hands in the trenches and a grenade gets thrown in there - you all go together. That grenade will not choose who gets to stay in this world and who does not. 1-2-3 Kaboom. Goodbye Gabriel.

Just what I've been saying all along! The problem is that the executive decision making 'food-chain' in the RDV/Orlando Magic organization is broken; and now they are attempting to cover their asses from several years of 'bad' choices; and are apparently unwilling to make the hard decisions to 'fix' the situation, things will only continue deteriorate! The group's penchant for fielding teams on-the-cheap has worked somewhat; but the signs were there for the past few seasons, that this blueprint was simply not going to work, and if it were to work; the 'surplus' funds would have been better spent on competent player scouts, a quality team physician and a cadre of physical and mental health conditioning professionals! The secondary crux of the team's downward spiral is the owner, Rich DeVos and his management 'experts' that are about as engaged in solving the 'disjointed' state of the Magic organization as are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney!

While not being a fan of the Magic, i do have a slight leaning toward them, however it dismays me greatly the firing of both Doc Rivers and Dave Wohl. I share the sentiments that Gabriel should be the first head to role he has assembled the roster which in fairness should be competitive in the weaker eastern conference. That aside i think the Magic have shored up the long term possibility of removing Gabriel by the summer hiring of Dave Twardzik who while questionable out west with the Warriors did a sound job with both the Blazers and Hornets in the 90's. I personally think that Wohl would have been better option then Johnny Davis vastly more experineced after serving time with the Lakers, Heat and a stint as head coach of the Nets in the 80's among others. Me personally while with no concrete evidence...Twardzik will be the man come summer time and he will bring in his own guys...and the last remnants of the Williams/Gabriel/76ers days will be over.

The problem with the string attached to the pin of the grenade; which is in Gabriel's pocket, is that RDV management continues to 'chew' through it, instead of 'yanking' on it!!
