Sasser Gone

Jeryl Sasser was let go immediately following the Hawks game on Wednesday. It was an expected cut in preparation for the final roster. I do not think there are many out there that will be surprised by this move.

I don't know whats happening in Orlando when you keep a guy like Grant Hill that hasn't even played half a season since he stepped foot in Orlando, but Jeryl Sasser the leading scorer in SMU history has been waived. Coming to Orlando he had no choice but to accept the role of being a defender & passer because Tracy McGrady shoots the ball 28 to 30 times a game where if he's on or off the Magics are still in jeopardy of losing. Any guard that has to accept another role than being a scorer will have difficulty shooting the ball from the outside, because his confidence will be gone from fear of not playing the game. On the otherhand, what was wrong with Troy Hudson, another guard who everyone was unaware of his extrordinary skills until he was put in the right situation. Maybe the focus should be on how many games will T-Mac shoot the Magic out of this year until he decides that he's ready to go to another team where he can win a championship. I've seen Sasser help Orlando in many games on the defensive in as well as rebounding. If you look at the games where he has played enough minutes any coach could see that he almost averages a double-double. Sasser will be on another team and he will show the league that he belongs on the basketball court with the ball in his hands. Furthermore, Tracy McGrady has finally taken the Magic to the playoff this year, & with the help of Drew & if Juwan Howard decides to step up this year they should make a great playoff run. If not you should definitely think of getting rid of Doc Rivers & possibly Grant Hill.

should have traded sasser for Allen Iverson so MacGrady can have some help running the floor.

Jerryl Sasser was greatness when T-Mac went out with an injury Sasser step in his place and started. He scored 27 points that game. He deserves a roster spot. This proves that if Orlando truly needs Sasser to come through in the clutch Sasser will deliver. I say Mark Cuban should sign Jerryl Sasser so he'll help the Mavs

I think that the Magics traded Sasser because of selfishness and he should get picked back up by another team instead of them making his talent go down the drain!!!

Another thing is that the NBA doesn't give the newcomers a chance to show them what they are made of. They just draft them, and you never hear of that great star who came from high school or college ever again, unless you go to the rosters and see their name (ha,ha)

Sasser has now signed with a french team : Pau-Orthez, wich was Boris Diaw (Hawks) and Mickael Pietrus (Warriors) former team.

Sasser will now play in Europe. He plays tonight in the euroleague.

An actual good move by Orlando, probably the only one last season.
