Pistons close out series in Detroit

Different year, different coach, different players - same Magic team. I kept to myself all year long. I didn't attend one single game. I silently set back and watched. I even swapped out Brighthouse cable for DirecTv in order to catch all the Magic games. Sucker. Even though I said I wouldn't spend another dime on the Magic until the ownership changes - I did. I wonder how much DirecTv paid them?

On to the actual performance of the Magic - pathetic. Are the Magic better than Detroit? Yes, I think they have more talent and better coaching. But they have no heart. The defense was absolutely horrible. And while I think Van Gundy is a great coach and is largely responsible for the improvement of the team this year - I certainly question his decision making. If Bogans is going to give you 3ppg at the shooting guard position, you might as well play Redick and just bring a double team to shade him on the defensive end. At least then, maybe you can negate some of the damage.

Oh well, there is always next year. Since the Magic ARE getting that new area, they'll definitely be around for awhile longer. And they have a nice, shiny base of new bandwagon fans. But when the newness wears off and the GMs tank the offseason for us - what will we be left with? An underachieving Magic team with no heart (See: Darrell Armstrong).

When we get some heart in this team - then I'll put mine back into it. For now, I'll put in as much effort as the Magic do in practicing free throws.

Great effort by the Magic, but it wasn't enough to beat one of the best teams in the NBA - the Detroit Pistons. As good as Orlando is, they are NOT better than Detroit and were never slated to make it past the Palace. Maybe you all could drop a line to Jameer Nelson on making guarantee's, dont. Only Rasheed makes guarantees!
