A fan favorite among many, Trevor Ariza was traded to the LA Lakers for 6'9" forward Brian Cook and 6'5" guard Maurice Evans. Included in the deal was the $2.6 million injury exception the team received for Tony Battie. Bo Outlaw was released to make room on the roster. I hope Bo finds a spot in the Magic organization and management hinted that might be possible. It's great to have him around - maybe as a scout or assistant coach. I think this was a decent trade for the Magic and definitely a good move for Ariza. Ariza is a good player and he will be missed - but I rather see the kid get some playing time and he should fit in nicely with the Lakers.

Magic keep winning

The Magic won their seventh game on the road this season by beating the New Orleans Hornets last night. The Magic now stand at 10-2, the first team in the NBA to reach 10 victories this season. Dwight Howard was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week while averaging 23 points and 13 rebounds. Hedo Turkoglu is playing the way he is capable of playing and I think this makes a big difference in the team. Hedo is a versatile player who can open the floor for other players. And Rashard Lewis, well, his fourth quarter threes are just plain Rasharded.

Mike Thomas over at the Orlando Sentinel has published a very good article on the status of the Magic games on television. He seems to be the only one besides myself at putting the blame solely where it belongs. This is another reason why you won't see this Magic fan renew any season tickets until the ownership of the team changes. Check out the article, it is a good read:
