When Billy Donovan was hired, Dwight Howard said basketball will be fun again. It will be fun again, but it's also a business. A business that demands winning. Winning makes basketball fun. For all of us. That's where the leadership will come into play. Van Gundy appears to have that natural capability of getting people to listen to and understand what he says. I think the players will respect him more because of his NBA head coaching experience.
We probably wouldn't have noticed a big difference between the coaches in November and December. However, come the week after the All-Star break, I think we'll see an Orlando Magic team that is more prepared and ready to make a run for a good playoff spot. That will be the difference in the team under Van Gundy. Our coach has the tools to take a team to the next level. We're certainly ready for it.
