Well, according to just about every major news source in America, Billy Donovan will be announced as the Magic's next head coach. I'm interested to hear what all the other Magic fans think about this. Personally, I'm a bit numb on the whole idea. First, we're getting a great college coach who has never had any pro experience. Past pro tryouts for college coaches have not gone very well. However, getting past that - I think that Donovan might have what it takes. My only problem is the money the Magic are reportedly throwing out there to get him. At $6 million a year, surely there are other coaches with a little more, uhm, playoff experience? After all, isn't that what the Magic are looking for come free agency time? Regardless, I do like that the Magic are being serious with the kind of money they're throwing out there. Maybe, just maybe, we can expect the same thing sometime around July 1st. I sure would like a fancy stretch Rolls-Royce limousine to go along with this new high-paid driver.

Kobe has the determination to take a team to the next level. Do the Magic?

Brian Hill has been officially relieved of his duties as head coach of the Orlando Magic. There are conflicting reports as to whether he was fired, resigned or if the team is negotiating another role for him within the organization. Either way, I just hope they do the right thing by hiring a quality coach and clean up some of the straggling management problems. Preferably, I'd like to see the team under new ownership. This franchise has been a train wreck for far too many years.
