Magic at Sacramento

A great late minute defensive play by Grant Hill helped to steady the Magic down the stretch. And Jameer Nelson nails a three pointer from Los Angeles with 1.7 seconds left to win the game for the Magic. The Magic improve to 14-5 with a final score in Sacramento tonight of 92-89. Dwight Howard played big tonight, with energy that he lacked from last night. Howard finished with 18 points, 16 rebounds and 1 blocked shot. Nelson finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds.

The Magic started the game kind of flat, but stayed close with the Kinds throughout the game. I think that is the key for this team. They can step up the defense and knock down big shots - so just staying competitive until the final quarter puts you in position to pull out close games. Carlos Arroyo had a steady game tonight, finishing with 12 points and 5 assists. Most of Arroyo's points came in the fourth quarter as he helped give the Magic a small cushion as the game was winding down.

Hill made the defensive play of the game, stealing the ball late in the fourth quarter. Hill only played 3 minutes in the first half after picking up two quick fouls but played well in the second half. I also felt that Tony Battie played very well tonight. Battie was active on the boards and around the basket. He finished with 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Another good win for the Magic on the road. One more in Indiana and then the team is back home for a back-to-back starting with Detroit on Friday night.

Quote on Dime Magazine from Sacramento color commentator Jerry Reynolds: “If you don’t watch out under the basket, you can get a concussion from one of Dwight Howard’s dunks.”

Not sure if I like the new layout - but it's new, I'll give it time. My initial reaction was that it's "too flashy" - I prefer the simplicity of the old one.

Anyway, it's nice to see this site back alive!

Hi andi! I think the site is simpler in design now - but thanks for the feedback. Which part don't you like?
