Another road game, another victory for the Orlando Magic. The Magic came out a little flat in the first quarter and got behind early however, they finish the game strong and beat the Seattle SuperSonics, 94-84. Man am I proud of these guys. I noticed late last season that the team had a certain attitude late in games. This year, we are seeing a team that believe they can win any game. The entire team is playing well and staying healthy.

USA Today article on Howard

Every now and then, someone in the media writes a decent piece on the Magic. In today's edition of USA Today, Roscoe Nance has a good article on Dwight Howard and his continued improvement. Bill Walton was quoted as referring to Howard in the article as, "...the future of post play in our world." And my favorite quote in the article refers to the nasty dunks that Howard throws down, "6-11, 270 pounds of funky stuff." And this quote from Howard practically brings me to tears: "I want to turn this organization around and bring the magic back to Orlando. That's what my goal is."

The cool thing about this article, he belongs to Orlando. Yes fans, he's all ours. Teehee. Check out the article:

Dwight Howard was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for play Monday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 26. Howard averaged 18.5 points and 14.3 rebounds as Orlando compiled a 3-1 record for the week. Personally, I think the Daily Double has had better weeks, but he did record one of his now patented 20-20 games. Magic at Utah

Call me crazy or blinded with dedication - but I thought the Magic would handle the Jazz pretty much the way they did tonight. Magic put on a good show in front of the Utah crowd and hand the Jazz their first loss at home this year, winning 88-75. Carlos Boozer, meet Dwight Howard. You may call him Mr. Daily Double. Howard posts another exceptional game tonight, leading the Magic to victory with 21 points and 16 rebounds.

The Magic improve to 6-3 as they pull out a close win over the Denver Nuggets, 108-99. Keyon Dooling and the rest of the Magic bench played exceptionally well tonight. Dooling finished with 25 points on the night, a career high. Trevor Ariza provided solid minutes, putting back 3 offensive boards - the last one coming at a crucial moment in the game to put the Magic up by 5 late in the fourth quarter.

Magic vs Chicago

The Magic started the new season with a bang as they beat up on Chicago 109-94. The night before, Chicago embarrassed the Miami Heat. The "Daily Double" Dwight Howard led the way, scoring 27 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Most of Howard's damage came in the first half as the Magic lead by 25 points in the second quarter; the Bulls never led in the game. Grant Hill looked great tonight, starting at shooting guard. Hill finished with 19 points. The Magic got plenty of support from the rest of the team, Jameer Nelson added 21 points and 3 assists and Hedo Turkoglu contributed 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

It's Showtime!

The Magic start the 2006-07 season tonight against the Chicago Bulls. Today is finally here; basketball is back. The Magic are back. Personally, I can hardly wait to get to the game tonight. I hope that everyone is as excited as I am. I expect the fans to be back in full force this year as the Magic contend for a playoff spot. See you at the game!
