Are you kidding me? That was awesome! Mavericks? Check. Pistons? Check. Heat? Check! Defending champions, San Antonio Spurs? CHECK!!! The Magic beat the Spurs, 92-80, in a great game. Dwight Howard has 22 points and 13 rebounds. Jameer Nelson contributes 19 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
The Magic played great defense tonight. A complete team effort all around the floor. Hedo Turkoglu drops a little on the all-around game, but drops in 15 points against his former team. Darko Milicic comes up huge tonight with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. But it was Howard who came up big down the stretch to score a timely basket against Tim Duncan while being hacked with no call.
The Magic only commit 9 turnovers while forcing 16 from the Spurs. Every loose ball or almost turnover for the Magic seemed to bounce in the right direction. The team values every possession as if it were the last one. This team also seems to find the player down the stretch to make the timely basket. Tonight, it was Darko Milicic that tapped in a missed shot and then knock down a couple jumpers to keep the Spurs in check as they made a run in the third and fourth quarters. Each game, this team grows up right in front of our eyes. Each night, a different players takes the big shot, grabs the big rebound or gets a hand on the loose ball.
Sorry guys. I don't know what else to say tonight. A good all-around win by an impressive Magic team. The Spurs played them hard until the final minute and we came out on top.
