Dwight Howard's Progress

Although Dwight Howard played in the summer leagues for the Magic, his play was limited to 25 minutes to give the coaches an opportunity to look at other young players. One thing noticeable about Howard during the summer league was his offense. Howard looked more comfortable away from the basket and the coaching staff gave him plenty of touches. In 25 minutes per game, Howard averaged 19 points and 7.5 rebounds.

Howard has also spent some healthy time in the gym in between trips all over the world. Howard has bulked up to 265 pounds while keeping his athletic build. The additional size should help Howard around the basket, but it has not hurt his explosiveness.

If there is one thing to look forward to next year - it's to see Howard become the superstar we are all aware he is capable of becoming.
