I was reading through the various media reports today and noticed that ex-Magic player Steven Hunter signed a deal with the Sixers. The deal was reportedly for 5 years and $17 million. Are you kidding me?

As pretty much everyone in Orlando expected, the Magic waived Doug Christie today using the NBA's amnesty clause. The clause allows a team to waive a player in order to avoid paying the luxury tax on that player's salary. Christie will still be paid the $8.2 million this year that the Magic owe him.
The Magic officially signed Keyon Dooling to a three year, $10 million dollar contract today. Dooling spent last year in Maimi as a backup point guard. The signing of Dooling is to provide backup in the point guard and shooting guard rotations. Although Dooling is a decent backup guard, I have to really start questioning the Magic's gameplan.
The Orlando Magic released their preseason schedule today. The Magic open the preseason on the road against Atlanta on Tuesday, October 11th. The first preseason home game will be on Wednesday, October 19th against the back-to-back Euroleague champions - Maccabi Tel Aviv.
