The Magic will not be retaining assistants Chris Jent, Paul Westhead and Clifford Ray for next season. While the first two will not be missed by most Magic fans, it comes as bit of a shock that Ray will not be with the Magic next year.
Ray was instrumental in Dwight Howard's success last year. He spent the entire summer working with Howard and continued during the regular year. Hopefully the Magic or the Howard family can work a deal with Ray for the upcoming year as a personal coach for Howard.
Brian Hill has been working steadily since he was hired as the Magic Head Coach on May 22nd. Hill is looking to add former Philadelphia coach Randy Ayers as an assistant. Hill is also reported to have hired back Tom Sterner, a long time Magic assistant who coached with Hill, Chuck Daly and Doc Rivers.
