Happy birthday to me

Today, Chris Jent notified the media today that the Magic have dropped his name out of the search for the head coaching position. I know most Magic fans were praying this would happen. I was fairly certain it would happen. There was just no way John Weisbrod could have made it through another season with another no-name head coach.

Will Chris Jent be a head coach this year, or any time in the future? Only time will tell. Jent has some potential, but he was too personal with the players. The team needs discipline. The team needs a leader.

I think the way has been paved for a major announcement either Friday or Monday. I predict Eric Musselman will be named the next head coach of the Orlando Magic by Monday. That will give him roughly two weeks to start putting a staff in place before the draft lottery.

This was my second best birthday present today. The best present was the punching bag I received a few days ago. I think that was given to me just in case Chris Jent ended up the coach of the Orlando Magic. I was going to need something to occupy all my free time this winter.
