Head coaching rumors

As the season winds down, we will undoubtedly hear the fair share of coaching rumors. To start things off, we have some lame local sports authorities throwing out all kinds of garbage. We have heard names like Phil Jackson, Bill Lambier, Pat Riley, Brian Hill, Eric Musselman and Flip Saunders.

For starters, one local rumor is that Pat Riley is interested in coaching the Magic. As many of you already know, I brought that up last year. However, for the upcoming year - I can't see Riley leaving the Heat so long as Shaq is in Miami.

Another local sports reporter is campaigning for Brian Hill to return as the Magic's coach - in order to right a wrong. I'm sorry, but two wrongs do not make a right. The claim is that everything was right when Hill was here and only Penny Hardaway forced him out of Orlando. There is only one reason that Hill had any success in Orlando - and his name is Shaq. When he left, so did the Magic. Hill is by no means, the answer to our coaching problems.

And as much as I like the idea of Bill Lambier as a head coach in the NBA - again, not the solution for our team. Orlando is tired of the losing. We're tired of the expirements. We're tired of giving coaches and players a chance. We are ready to win. We pay hard earned money to watch and support this team. It's time for the team to put up the money for a seasoned, succesful coach to lead this team. The time is now. We still believe, but the magic is fading.
