After consulting with the medical staff at Duke University, Grant Hill will sit out the rest of the year with a bruised left shin. While the injury is not affecting his surgically repaired ankle, the Magic and Hill want to be cautious and avoid any further injury.
In the place of Hill, the Magic have resigned forward Mark Jones for the rest of the year. Jones was signed to a ten day contract a couple weeks ago, but was released early when Jameer Nelson went down with a chest injury. Andre Barrett was signed to replace Jones on the active roster to shore up the point guard position.
