One would think the Magic would try to end the year on a high note, but they get hammered by the Chicago Bulls 117-77. Losing is one thing; losing by 40 is ridiculous. Any margin over 20 tells me that the team gave up and did not want to finish the game.
After hearing that Dwight Howard would be getting more touches, he played only 21 minutes and put up 7 points and 8 rebounds. I don't get it. How hard is it to get it to the tall/wide body down in the paint? Every guard is guilt of this one - they are just not getting Howard the ball. Plain and simple. There are numerous times when Howard has decent position and the guard will try to get him the ball only to move it around the perimeter to the other side of the floor - away from Howard.
As for the rest of the team and how the game went. The Magic dished out only 18 assists while committing 16 turnovers. The Bulls put up 36 assists on 48 field goals. Jameer Nelson had an absolutely horrible night, and while every player is expected to have an off night every now and then, no one on the team picked up the slack. DeShawn Stevenson was off, Steve Francis was off. Stacey Augmon was really the only solid contributor on the night.
The Magic need to pick up the energy and effort the last couple games and get a win before the year passes them by. Ending the year on a losing streak is not how I want to start my summer off.
