Grit. Guts. Glory. It was an ugly first half. The Magic played poorly in the first, but kept the game close - only down by 2 at halftime. In the second half, the team came out and played hard. This was a very physical team and the Magic pull this game out in the end with their defense. The final score was 106-100, but it came down to the closing minutes. It's hard to say anything about the individuals in this game, because the entire team pulled this one out. Mario Kasun plays big minutes and helped out a lot tonight. His stats may not show it, but he was a huge factor in this win. Kasun finishes with 9 rebounds. Cuttino Mobley went nuts in the second half and ends up with 26 points. Dwight Howard has another double-double night with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
With Kelvin Cato out tonight, the Magic contribute 11 blocks to help the cause. Did I mention I like this team? They play hard every night, sometimes ugly on defense, but they still play hard. I look at players we had last year and compare positions - man, we sucked big time last year. You look at Steven Hunter, Drew Gooden, Tracy McGrady, Juwan Howard and Tyronn Lue - what are they doing for their teams this year? Not a whole lot.
Big win on the road. Thanks Magic!
Sounds like I missed another great game. Question...I hear Garrity is injured...AGAIN. But I couldn't find any info on it. Got the scoop?
Garrity has a sprained foot. See this post: http://www.orlandomagicfan.com/posts/771.aspx You need to stay up on the site and read more. =).
Great game...I love the heart and hustle of this team, much better to watch than last year.
